Pursuing Despite Disobedience
“Real faith honors Christ because it looks away from any of our own supposed ‘worthiness’ and looks to the righteousness of Christ. We put our faith in the person and promises of Christ. If we have the wrong person, we do not have the faith. If we have the wrong promises, we do not have the faith. Christ is fully and eternally God, and he promises awesome things to those who trust in him, even secured forgiveness, a secured future, and eternal life.” — Aaron S.
I have learned much recently of not only what it means to receive and maintain the righteousness of Christ but also what it means to submit to His complete authority and guidance. It is in Him that I find my strength and guidance. I think deeply upon how much the beauty of Christ not only covers my iniquity but pushes me above moral neutrality. He is the only source of ultimate satisfaction, and it is this revelation to which the beautiful mercy of God becomes clear.
I think of what it what it must be like for Your creation to continually turn away from you. We were continually “foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another” (Tit 3:3), and we could not even discern what it meant for you to bring a people to yourself from Your disobedient creation (1 Cor 1:18; Rom 9:22–24).
I don’t know why you continue to purse after Israel despite the depth of our disobedience. Thank you for remembering your promise (Rom 9:6). Thank you that are continuing to build Your Body.

awesome post. makes me think, as always. i think i also like this read because it’s easier than your usuals, with several 4-syllable words that i’ve only read in ancient manuscripts during my backpack of the holy lands. alright, it was a post-it that got stuck to my shoe when i went to a state park.
here’s good advice for you that i learned the hard way today: don’t buy a phone so new that a phone charger is nowhere to be found in stores. my search continues tomorrow. so..thai, indian, or italian?
I’m assuming j = jennifer karber. You can handle all the stuff I write. None of it is that complicated.
I also got advice: don’t buy a phone charger if your cigarette lighter thingy doesn’t work. What a waste of money. Of Thai, Italian, and Indian: Indian would be last.
Hey Chris!
I am curious about the whole Christmas thing. I mean, I know it doesn’t have “CHRISTMAS” in the Bible, and I know all the arguments about it being a Pagan holiday, but I know that we should celebrate the birth of our Lord. I am not saying it neccessarily has to be a specific day, or anything, but what do you think? I mean, I would definitely like to hear your thoughts and reasonings.
