A Common Question
Below is a short letter written by Fouad Masri, the President of The Crescent Project (a ministry specific to reaching Muslims), about the alleged corrupted Injeel (Gospels) . There will be a Crescent Project "Sharing the Hope" seminar at Apex on the 5th of November. It's a great introduction to Islam and Christian apologetics to Muslims, and it's only $35!
"A Common Question"
On a sunny afternoon by the beach in Europe, two Muslim men approached me as I distributed Bibles to passersby. Mustafa, the eldest, began attacking the Bible and claiming the Injeel (Arabic for New Testament) has been changed.
I turned to the younger man, named Mounier. 'Mounier, can you believe Mustafa would say something like that?' I asked him in shock. 'How can Mustafa call himself a Muslim and a believer in one God, yet believe that humans corrupted God's message and book? Humans surely cannot change the words of Almighty God!'
Mounier was dumbfounded. His only response was to begin reciting verses from the Qur'an. He said to me that he had memorized part of his holy book and had read it four times. When I told him I'd read it 12 times, Mounier walked away.
Seeing that no other Muslims were within earshot, Mustafa asked for a copy of the Injeel. I gladly gave him a copy and encouraged him to follow Christ and take Him as his Savior.
The best approach we can take with our Muslim friends is to help them work through the myths and fallacies taught by their religious leaders. Many Muslims are nominal and have never done a serious study of the New Testament or the Qur'an. Our role as ambassadors of Christ is to highlight the majesty and power of God. We stand for the truth that no human can destroy the Word of God. Additionally, the Qur'an clearly teaches that Muslims must believe in the New Testament (Qur'an 2:136).
Ask your Muslim friend, "What are the holy books in Islam?" He will respond, the Torah of Moses, the psalms of David, the Injeel of Jesus, and the Quran of Muhammad. Then ask, "Since the Injeel is sent by God, shouldn't all people obey and follow it?"
Always offer an Injeel as a gift. We have them available in different languages. Check our online bookstore. We are here to serve you.
Is the Injeel corrupted? It's the most frequent topic that will come up with Muslims. Know how to answer the most common question.

Well Chris, it's a long story with the blame put in many different hands. Jason dumped me as soon as I got home to Chillicothe when the year was over, and what gets me is the only reason I came home was for him. I was very in love with him and really thought he was the one I was going to end up with, then I just got pushed away. I was really hurt and pathetic at first but I realize now that God took me out of the realtionship. Jason was a christian, but didn't have much of a working faith to speak of, and thus it really tore me away from a closeness with God. So, even though it hurt, I know that God is calling me back to Him. I'm really looking forward to what God has in store for me, cause honestly I never gave him much room to move in my life since I got to college I've always kinda had my priorities somewhere else, and looking back on my life the times I truly felt happy were the times I was closest to God. So that's where I am right now, and I need a lot of prayer and fellowship with people who inspire me. I hope to see you soon, take care!
