Personally, I came from a Word of Faith background and entered Regent University in order to pursue an MDiv with such underpinnings. However, during my time there I became convinced of the Reformed Perspective while still adhering to the continuation of the Gifts of the Spirit. At the moment I'm finishing my MDiv via Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. I've just recently started blogging about some of these issues. I am too a recently convinced "calvinist" and have many issues with the Hyper-Charismatic/Word of Faith doctrine and beliefs, most of them are extra-biblical. If wasn't for the Holy Spirit, I would still be in error (wouldn't we all, hee hee). Anyway, it's wonderful to know that I don't have to completely "shuck" my charismatic beliefs but using the Word verify them and back them up. Of course, we must praise, worship, honor, adore and glorify the Giver and not the gift! By His grace and for His glory alone, Tyler I enjoyed reading your brief thoughts.
