Hannah McKeever Joins the List

You might be wondering two things: (1) who is Hannah McKeever? and (2) what is this “list?” Well, you’re in luck as I am about to explain it to you. The “list” is a group of women that I believe make the qualification of being “solid women.” Here are the characteristics:

  1. Christ is the sole object of all her affections.
  2. Possesses a meek and gentle spirit.
  3. Desires to see the Kingdom grow.
  4. Has a desire to fulfill the Biblically outlined roles of womanhood.
  5. Has an earnest desire to grow with other women.
  6. Has an active leadership role in ministry.
  7. Has a God-entrenched view of all things.

There are currently four women on the list (in no particular order): Ashley Hesterman, Amanda Vince, Gwen Robinson, and someone who I can’t name because she is overseas in a closed country doing missions (totally solid). I have found these women to exemplify what it means to be a woman in accordance with the Scriptures. Being added to the list takes a long time of deliberation and me getting to know them, and I have decided it is time for the list to expand.

The “list” is used for my reference. When I meet a woman that needs help or encouragement I circle through the list. Whenever I meet someone who also needs the counsel of a God-saturated woman I send them also to one of these fine women on this short list. I try to keep it short to keep the standards high to who finds themselves on this list. I don’t do this so I can boast in my own list, and I know that each of these women do not take it as a reason for them to boast. I know that each of them boasts solely in the cross (Gal 6:14).

Hannah and II have known Hannah for about a year now. I met her through Campus Crusade ministry (as I did the other women), and I was immediately impressed with her gentle spirit and desire to help others. It was quite apparent that Hannah was deeply in love with Christ, and we have had conversations about her desire to see the kingdom expand wherever she is. She currently is leading a Bible study with Gwen through Campus Crusade that I really wish I could attend! It is for reasons like this that she is a perfect candidate for this list.

I am excited to have Hannah as a part of this. I am blessed to know her as my friend, and I am constantly encouraged by her desire to magnify and glorify the presence of Christ in her life. It is not enough to just live in Christ–we must be about living for Christ. It is this quality I see in Hannah and the other women mentioned in this article.

Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
