Logically, it is bad to equate divine election with spiritual gifts. Let's assume that the gifts described in Acts still exist, Paul tells us in the passage that Ashley quoted that, "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." - 1 Cor 12:11

Good to know it was divinely appointed gibberish, then -- seems to be a lot of that going around these days. Puts a lot of pressure on those of us who do speak in tongues to actually be heard ;D -- All tongue in cheek, of course. Now, before I go pat myself on the back for that pun, is the 404 fixed?

Logically, I guess Chris that would have to say that the gift chose you; that is, if you want to be consistent.

I get a 404 whenever I try to comment. :) Funny thing, I don't seem to be able to find the droids I'm looking for either.

I'm assuming that your gift on tongues chose you?

Discipleship is A-MAZING. O.O Oh my goodness gravy, I love it *lol* I love being discipled and I love discipling girls. *grin* The stuff you learn through them is INCREDIBLE. And the stuff Brittany still teaches me is INCREDIBLE. I love the vulnerability and the love and the openess and the honest seeking of Christ that shines through. XD Though at times I somewhat resent the conviction ;D but then I get used to it, and fix it *grin*

Also, I'm having trouble responding on your Christian Dating Game thread.

To Perry: Tongues and the interpretation of tongues are separate spiritual gifts :)

1 Cor 12:4-11
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

I think cleaning your house would be scarier than taking a test that I wasn't prepared for! By the way, MJ and I had an interesting discussion over the gifts of tongues in Acts is a gift of hear or a gift of speaking; stay tuned to MJ's blog for an assessment.
