Why the Law Then? (Intro)
I have recently completed an essay investigating Paul’s teaching in Galatians on the Christian’s relation to the Mosaic Law entitled: Why the Law Then?: A Biblical Theology of Law in Galatians. I am excited to share it with all of you and get feedback. It is the first true writing I’ve done on my understanding of the relation of the Mosaic Law to the Christian. Hopefully, it will help to clarify my position to those who are curious to who I understand this issue.
Since the article is 3,800 words without footnotes (5,350 with) I will break it into four parts to make it a little more approachable. I hope that it is approachable for the lay reader and intriguing for the scholar. I will start tomorrow with the first part and every-other-day post the next installment. If you just can’t wait for the next installment then you can download the entire essay in PDF. It should be noted that I have dedicated this writing to someone.

God’s glory amongst the nations is both challenging and inspiring.
Chris,
Thanks so much for your kind dedication. I certainly feel unworthy of it, but I rejoice that God has used me in some small way to point you to Christ, even as he has used you in my life. Keep following after him.
Very helpful article by the way, thanks for writing it.
Spiffay :D Sounds promising. Can’t wait to read what you have to say.
Chris,
Look forward to reading the article in whole.
Great article…almost scholarly. I read in another one of your post that you are considering Southern Seminary…it’s an excellent choice…of course, I’m biased, having graduated from there in 2001. Godspeed in your studies!
@Scott: Can you elaborate on “almost scholarly?”
Sure, I can elaborate. It was a very well (so far as I can tell without checking out all your sources) researched topic. However, if you turned it in to a seminary class in it’s current form, you’d get docked for Grammar and style. But it’s not a seminary paper, right? So don’t worry about it. Just keep studying to show yourself approved as a workman who does not need to be ashamed…rightly dividing the word of truth, and all that :). Are you still planning to go to SBTS? Interested in the military chaplaincy? We’re always looking for one more!
