A Boy, Tree, and Philosophical Ages

I was lis­ten­ing to a ser­mon by Al Mohler wherein he gave an anal­ogy to explain the dif­fer­ent def­i­n­i­tions of pre­mod­ernism and post­mod­ernism in terms of the agent’s per­cep­tion of truth and real­ity. I thought about it, and I would like to expand it to include mod­ernism along with chang­ing the anal­ogy slightly to make it eas­ier to comprehend. The Effects of Postmodernity on Christianity

We live in one of the most excit­ing times in all of human his­tory. We are wit­nesses to a his­tor­i­cal shift unlike the world has ever known. The cul­ture around us is rais­ing seri­ous ques­tions about the valid­ity of any absolute epis­te­mol­ogy, moral­ity, and sense of truth. Visiting Southern Seminary

I went this week­end to visit The South­ern Bap­tist The­o­log­i­cal Sem­i­nary, and it was an encour­ag­ing time where God solid­i­fied that it is a place for me to be. I got the chance to talk with the deans includ­ing Rus­sell Moore, and I asked him about classes in bib­li­cal the­ol­ogy. He pro­ceeded to tell me that they’re work­ing on a new degree pro­gram spe­cial­ized in that field. I now know what I want to major in. While I want to take some mis­si­ol­ogy (read more...)
