The A-Team Application

We all need to laugh at ourselves now and again. My ex-girlfriend found this letter on her computer. It is a letter explaining why I think I’m “worthy” to go into management training at McDonald’s. I didn’t edit anything so you can see how horrendous it is! It’s important to note that I loved working there, but it’s a little embarrassing to think that I was planning my future around it.

I am honored to be considered for the position of an A-Team member. Now is a time of reflection on what the title, but more importantly, the resposibility that will bring to my work as an employee at McDonald’s.

I believe, in my own conviction, of my unusual talent of being an employee at McDonald’s. I feel I personify what is expected and what is received of an employee. I show up to work everyday (except one day — Back Pain from Wreck) and fulfill all that is asked of me during my shift. I also can perform every task that is asked of crew employees. I can work in drive-thru (Cashier, Order Taker, Drink Drawer, Runner, Presenter, also — Breakfast Stock), front counter (Order Taker, Runner, Stocker, French Fries/Hash Browns), Grill (Breakfast/Lunch Table, Breakfast/Lunch — Meat/Eggs, Burrito/Muffins, also can do Set-up, table set-up, stocking freezer/Table), Lobby (Cleaning, Trash, Playland), I have done unloading truck, open front counter, and cook for open, closed one time, and I can clean the shake machine.

There are various other items that make me suitable for A-Team. I have proven resposible with bank deposits and other tasks that make me leave the restraunt on the clock, I clean the restraunt (trash, breaking down boxes, cleaning stock room/freezer/walk-in, Pre-Close, etc…) without being told, I also feel whatever job is asked of me I acknowledge the job and complete it as fast as possible. I also believe an A-Team member has to be good with customers, and I feel that I can get customers to respond to me very easily and with content on whatever I do for them. Along with that thought, I also feel I get along well with my fellow employees and help them whenever I can.

Along with all these various jobs that I can do, some do need work before I feel I can advance beyond A-Team. I need to train at least a few in different areas as a crew trainer before taking on the A-Team title/resposibility, other than that I feel I am ready for the responsibilty of A-Team. To advance on past A-Team I need to be more affluent with the individual jobs and new skills that I have yet to attain.

In reflection, an A-Team member must be knowledgeable, fast, courteous, at work and on time. I feel I exemplify those qualities along with the ability of specializing in two areas of the restraunt (front counter, grill). Thank you management for the opportunity of not only the promotion but for allowing me to be employed at your restraunt. I look forward to a successful future at McDonald’s but specifically the Tipp City McDonald’s.
